so.. in an unexpected turn of events, the universe has decided

that Tylor needed a super awesome early Father's Day gift.

yes, that's yours truly ,entire family in tow, at the Walnut Creek Smart car Dealership,

where we pulled up in our vintage 81 Volvo station wagon to collect Tylor's prize.

you know those little promotions you see
"text in to win this car!"?
Well, while grocery shopping back in April, Tylor thought to himself
"why not?" and sent in the text -that won!
Now, when we pass by the front window of our home
and see this cute little button of a car parked out front
we just laugh out loud and say
**smart car!**

It's been a long time since this little blue Vespa has seen the open road..

ten years give or take.

Have you ever looked around at your life and gone

..wait a minute just when did I stop doing ___ or when did I stop being ___?

Well, that is just the place Tylor and I have been

since the beginning of this year,

when we started trying to get back to ourselves and each other.

Thus, my running efforts (p.s. I'm up to 15 miles now, yay me!)

and here is Tylor's passion (since age12!)

...awesome and "Oh, so Euro.."Vespa scooters.

Our road together may not be the norm, we met when I was sixteen & he was 25.

To say we have had our ups and downs would be a huge understatement. :)

Yet, here we are now 14 years later, nine years of marriage

and four glorious little beings surround us every waking moment

(also in the non-waking moments, actually).

In the middle of all the chaos that comes with family,

we have begun to uncover the us we used to be.

The going is a bit slower than I would like ::patience natalie::

but the feeling is incredible and worth every minute.

So, here's to you Ty you rock!

I had the idea for a little farm way back in December,

when I made this guy instead.

This little Eco-friendly farm comes

stock full ({get it?} oh.. I love terrible puns :)

of the best bitty animals any barnyard could ask for.

we have the ..cows ..the horses..

the pigs

and of course ..the chickens

my favorite part of this project,

everything was created using what I already had laying around

Used in this project:

2 grey corduroy cuffs for the roof

(from pants into shorts project)

a sheet of foam to give the walls shape

(packaging from a box of fruit Christmas gift)

green t-shirt remnant for the bottom of the grass and blue for the pond

cute green cotton print stash fabric

some of Grandma's special vintage wool yarn for the garden veggies

and of course, various felted wool sweaters
