progress

..a quick sewing side note..then on to fort building...
I Love this girl's style, and how was I to know that when Lilly didn't want to wear her brand new skirt mama just made for her ::gasp:: (I know, it's that red hair right?) that :
1. It would even fit Nia, or
2. that it would go oh, so very well with the skirt I had just made her(wait isn't that why Lilly had to have on of her own in the first place?..hmmm)
Ah the joy of balancing every childs happiness, well most of the time anyway.

On to fort building,

we have a floor people!

well half a floor, but hey it's progress! probably not the safest thing..letting a nine, four, six, and yes, the 20 month old walk on the floor...it's just that...they were just sooo excited to try it out right away!
and now for my all time favorite "mama look" moment!
(well, so far :) Yes that is our little one willingly playing wheelbarrow with her very creative big sister,I was a bit concerned, and yet, as I got around(very quickly) to the front of all of this silliness to verify the happiness level on Lilly's face,
not only was she happy, she loved every minute of it!

some fun

our space through the eyes of our four year old
::photos courtesy of Nia::
..and now , some more fun...
here is our new fence, (thanks neighbor!)
and here is our "old" fence, again (thanks neighbor!)
beautiful isn't it? we thought so too,
so we made a potting table..
but what to do with the rest?
hmm, are you thinking what we're thinkin'?

FORT!

Let the building begin!

three is a magic number

The weather was a bit cooler yesterday evening for our photo shoot, that wasn't reason enough to stay indoors for these very excited little ones

they love these dresses so much, -" can we wear them for nightgowns, and then wear them tomorrow? Please!?"(said-jumping up and down hands clasped ) I'm not joking! :)

...even our car wasn't safe from the flower fairies...

e

projects galore!

"new" (to me) vintage buttons
the magic of simple things.

Quite on the opposite realm of simple things,
this little number.
How could I have forgotten that the last doll dress I made
takes just as much time to make as a regular dress?
Well, it turned out to be just as fabulous as our little designer envisioned it.
So all in all it was worth every second.

...and now on to new endeavors, these lace tablecloths were just calling out to me destined to be some simple summer dresses for the girls, at a not too distant yard sale. So with every good intention they were swept up and brought home, in the background and haunting me every warm day since.
So this past weekend the tables were cleared and the serger warmed up...

.. check back in for the finished product

steal a few moments..

to crochet,

to read,to ponder a new project,
after all, what is a garden without a beach glass mozaic birdbath?
(a fabulous birthday gift gang! Which is currently in progress & to be continued..)
Ah, like so many other projects, just quietly hanging about, stashed here and there.
Sometimes the startup of a project can be the easiest part, making a little space in the day to come back to it is where some creativity comes in handy.
So far so good, stay tuned to see how this one turns out.

how sweet it is..

I have officially entered my third decade

I'm 30!

and loving every minute of it!
(except for the minor Internet interruptionthat has been the source of
a bit of frustration- and some much delayed blogging!)

SO..

here is another quick overview
make use of some of the plum sauce,

play in the yard
enjoy our growing garden
bread baking lessons for the little ones

spontaneous outdoor crafting
a brief pause , relax, exhale... and view the mess on the floor from Yarno's perspective.
Clean floors are overrated anyway, too high maintenance for summer.
