wood ipod

Who knew simple stickers could be so much fun?
I think these were originally designed to put on your ipod,
but they do make fabulous fake ipods for the little ones
that aren't yet of age for "real one" but still like to pretend.

Lucky for us, we have a handy dandy woodworkin' daddy inhouse
who was quick to find just the perfect width of wood,
and cut and sanded these little cuties right up.

Just add a little cotton twine, and two pompoms and you're all set!

don't toss it..re use it!

Getting a bit of a head start on some spring cleaning around here.
As I was organizing the bathroom cabinet, I realized that old stash
of drug store make-up that only sees the light of day at halloween,
could probably be replaced with an organic, animal friendly version.
Yet, when all those little compacts and containers were just sitting there
in the waist bin I thought, now what is the point of this..if I am just putting them into the landfill?
Then I had a great idea....felt make-up!

TA-DA!

These were super easy to make and only took minutes.
Simply
-clean out the trays really well
- trim the felt just a touch bigger than to fit inside
- put a dab of glue down inside the tray
-press the felt in place
..and there you go!
Of course, the girls were thrilled to have their very own make-up,
I couldn't resist the urge to make an "old timey" make-up puff
..cause I had all the fabric just laying about anyway. :)
..Lilly had to climb the table she was so excited..
oh, wait, she does that all the time ..
There you have it! Three of my favorite things, organizing, recycling,
and yet another use for these fantastic felted wool sweaters!
Wait.. make that four things..can't forget happy kids!

A super yummy Pear

..has made it's way into my shop this morning ;)

I've been longing for that warm summer sun,
and have had my fill of these gloomy overcast days.
So, to help herald in the new seasons and warm us all up a bit
I thought some cute pears should do the trick!
This wool sweater is a different blend than I usually use
and didn't felt up as much as I had hoped.
Instead, it stayed this soft silky texture,
some how it's more fitting for a pear anyway..don't you think? :)
Enjoy your weekend!

for the dogs

I just wanted to share some photos of this fun little puppy gift bag
I recently created for a wonderful upcoming event Barkitecture 2010 ! Making good use of reclaimed sweatshirts, sustainable
bamboo batting & hemp fabric, stash fabrics, and of course felted sweaters.

Gentle on our planet & a benefit to those furry creatures we all love so much :)

sun day

~happy sunday~

..here's to making the most of

that one little spot of sun on the bed..

hope you are all having a most relaxing day!

Organic Totes are here!

:: Super Awesome ::
100% Organic Cotton Tote bags are now available in my Etsy shop!

One of the things that's got me most excited about this tote
is that the cotton is grown and the totes are made
right here in the U.S.! I love to support anything local and thus,
a bit gentler on our great green planet. :)

Also, not to mention that the new natalie mae design and logo
was screen printed by our dear friend over at;

The greatest place for all your screen printing needs. ;)

..this photo was taken at the end of a very.. long ..day..can anyone say slap happy?..

Supplies of this "little Lil" design are limited (about 8) I'm planning the next batch with a different design, so if you love this one

hurry to get yours ..I don't want anyone to miss out!

..everything in it's place

Sometimes it's nice to be ultra organized, and despite popular belief...
not just to calm that o.c.d. part of my personality.

No, it's more so that every time I hear one of my dear little seamstresses in the making slamming that sewing drawer...I don't have to cringe and wait for that deafeningly soft snap
as another one of my knitting needles breaks in two.

First time, no worries I can get another set.
The second time though, it was later in the day..I was possibly
experiencing some low blood sugar,
whatever the reason I silently resolved "never again"!

Thus, this handy dandy little knitting needle case was born.
..as always the lovely Lilly was on hand..and foot to assist..
(cheesy pun for the little ones!)
