socks

my little sock endeavour is coming along nicely

Nia's and Liora's are done, so now last but not least
I'm workin' on big brother Evan's pair.

E..I..E..I...Ohhh

a tiny farm
for these kids on-the-go
I had the idea for a little farm way back in December,
when I made this guy instead.

This little Eco-friendly farm comes
stock full ({get it?} oh.. I love terrible puns :)
of the best bitty animals any barnyard could ask for.

we have the ..cows ..the horses..
the pigs
and of course ..the chickens
my favorite part of this project,
everything was created using what I already had laying around
Used in this project:
2 grey corduroy cuffs for the roof
(from pants into shorts project)
a sheet of foam to give the walls shape
(packaging from a box of fruit Christmas gift)
green t-shirt remnant for the bottom of the grass and blue for the pond
cute green cotton print stash fabric
some of Grandma's special vintage wool yarn for the garden veggies
and of course, various felted wool sweaters

sticks

..ever had the urge to whittle? Me either.
Yet, somehow here I am with a fork, a spoon, and a knife.
Huh, ...just how does that happen..oh, yeah..now I remember.
It starts out with one of these little ones and then goes something like;
"Mama remember when you were going to
..(fill in the blank with any item from that endless to-do list)..can we do that now?"

Yes folks, this is how we get things done around here, all the important things that would otherwise be missed are never forgotten by the most persistent little ones in the bunch.

Joe gets love

Our resident G.I. Joe was in need of a few essentials,
luckily we just acquired the perfect tent material.
Salvaged from the top of a discarded vintage wood toolbox,
this dusty ol' canvas was just perfect!
A few sturdy seams, snaps, and grommets and voila!
Of course the tent stakes(coat hanger) needed their own sack,

and what tent would be complete without a sleeping bag?
Yes,.. it can have a zipper, and the strings on the end to tie it up.

Okay, ready.. set ... go play!

exploratorium

coffee and bears in tow & we 're off to the fabulous Exploratorium
:a few of the highlights:

mamas got a new bag

Yes! I finally figured out what to do with this
amazing traditional Irish sweater.
I've created my very favorite bag..of the moment.
I made the sweater portion of the bag and knew I wanted a green lining,
but didn't have any green fabric on hand.
So I set it aside
and wouldn't ya know a few days later I inherited some of my grandma's fabric stash...
included: just the most perfect shade of green fabric you've ever seen!

I don't care if the temperature is rising outside, I say it's sweater weather ;)

poufy

lovely vintage tule makes the perfect tutu or as our Lil calls it , a poufy..who knew?

kimono shirt dress

taking some time to actually sew together a few pieces I've had floating around in my mind.
a little something for me..
These two are the long awaited use of some fabulous birthday fabric
(thanks Sean & Julia) that were a bit intimidating to use,
as my machine has eaten such delicate fabrics is the past. naughty!
This time all went well, and now I can love my machine again :)

groovy groomin'

..well with all that fresh sea air our tresses were in need of some serious salon time..
luckily, I knew just the place :)

around here there is a never ending supply
of night and day personality contrasts,
..blowing kisses with Lilly while Liora is making faces for Daddy..
gotta love it
